My First Six Months

Ellie Musson sitting in her Hypnotherapy Room

The Therapy Room at Elixir Health & Wellbeing

Hello there!

Welcome to my first blog post. I thought it was about time I introduced myself a little better, and caught you up on all the happenings at Ellie Musson Hypnotherapy.

I qualified in early March and then (after a much needed holiday in the French Alps) launced my practice out of Elixir Health & Wellbeing, Wadebridge.

Since I was already part of the team as an Advisor, it was an easy transition on to the Therapist team. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderfully calm location for my clients, right in the centre of town, too!

I now work three days a week as an Advisor, recommending herbal remedies, food supplements and so on, while on Thursdays it’s hypnotherapy day. I also see clients online, and after hours at the store Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Many of my clients find me through Elixir, which has been a wonderful way of getting my services out there. I’ve been steadily growing my confidence with social media (have a look at my Instagram), and even had an advertorial in the Autumn issue of Wadebridge Life Magazine.

So what have I encountered in the Therapy Room? The issues clients are coming with are very varied, but some interesting trends are emerging.

The common thread in all cases is anxiety.

I’ve seen 42 different clients, for about 4-6 sessions each, for conditions ranging from arachnophobia (fear of spiders), to weight management, to procrastination, to IBS.

It seems whatever the reason for coming to see me, it boils back to anxiety. Simply put, anxiety is the body and minds’ way of telling us that something’s not right, that we need to make a change. It’s like an alarm bell going off inside. For some clients it comes out though digestive issues, for some it affects sleep, for others food cravings. It could be sky-rocketing blood pressure; for others it can result in devastatingly low mood.

The good news is that I’ve been able to help, and it’s the most rewarding work I’ve ever done. Just this week I had a lady in for her final session, almost a new person. She had begun treatment at the start of August for health anxiety, and now, I’m thrilled to say, she has made so many positive, lasting changes that she doesn’t need help anymore!

Please do get in touch using the information on my contact page, to find out about how I could help you or a loved one with this marvellously effective, short-term therapy method.
